Last week some of the group expressed an interest in exploring felt-making - some are used to it, some needed a refresh and some are complete newbies. We created some simple pre-felts and shapes, then experimented with cutting, layering and merging to better understand the limits and more importantly the possibilities of this method.
In our drawing session we continued with the theme of the line. Still focusing on the simple concept of the line as a starting point, we connected and filled in negative spaces to create shapes and patterns. We were interested to see how such a simple method can bring us in complex and beautiful directions we might not have imagined otherwise. The addition of stitch and the development of the shapes with thread added another dimension to the pieces.
